Check your VIN. For affected vehicles, follow NHTSA’s instruction to park outside, away from structures and other vehicles, until repaired.
What to know
NHTSA’s July 9 notice covers 462,869 Kia Tellurides from model years 2020 to 2024. The front power-seat motor can overheat after a seat switch is displaced; the agency also describes problems with some repairs performed under the earlier recall.
The new remedy involves an electronic fuse. Owners should contact a Kia dealer about their VIN and current repair availability, even if their vehicle already received the previous seat-switch repair. An old repair receipt does not establish that the new campaign is complete.
The park-outside instruction is a specific fire-risk precaution. A model-year match alone does not prove that a particular vehicle is included; use the official lookup and retain the completed repair documentation.
