“Show me the monthly payment with no add-ons, just the car, tax, and fees.”
What it is
Payment packing means presenting a monthly payment that already bakes in products like GAP, a service contract, or protection packages, so they never appear as a separate decision. The tell is a monthly payment higher than the price, rate, and term would produce on their own. Asking for the payment with every add-on removed exposes the packing.
