At the dealership
Spot delivery / yo-yo financing
Sent home in the car before financing is final, then called back for worse terms.
What to say
“I'll take delivery once the financing is fully approved and final in writing, not before.”
What it is
In a spot delivery, the buyer drives off before the financing is actually approved. Days later the store calls to say the deal 'fell through' and asks for a higher rate, more money down, or a co-signer: a yo-yo. The defense is to not take delivery until financing is fully approved and signed, or to use outside financing so the dealer has no leverage to unwind it.
