Where do recall results come from?
From NHTSA, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, looked up at the time you ask. A recall check tells you what is open for that model; the dealer can confirm whether a specific car's remedy was done.
Can I look up a car by VIN?
Yes. A 17-character VIN is decoded through NHTSA to the year, make, model and trim, which makes the recall and spec answers specific to that car's configuration.
