How it decides
You pick what matters from performance, safety, fuel cost, efficiency and family space, in order. The first counts most. Each spec is compared on published EPA and NHTSA figures, and small gaps are treated as ties, because spec sheets aren't precise enough to split hairs.
The ranking is computed from those numbers, so it can't be talked into a favorite. If neither car leads by a meaningful margin, the result says it's close instead of inventing a winner. It's an educational comparison, not a recommendation to buy.
